This project was all recorded around the whole Covid situation. So themes of dystopia, freedom, hope, fear, claustrophobia and disconnection have inevitably crept into the lyrics and music. It was a strange time and this album delves into some of those feelings that are still with us today.

I wanted the album to have depth and contrast so some of the tracks are more fast, edgy and aggressive, and some are more slow, moody and reflective. I have also injected instrumentals in there to give the listener a break from vocals. This is something I like to do so that there is more dynamics and variety in the overall album.

Genres and influences come from industrial music and groups like Nine Inch Nails and Scorn. Other inspirations come from darker trip hop, electronica, industrial hip hop, trap, jungle, dub and punk.

“Antifragile involved a process of attempting to create something edgy, dark, and heavy to effectively convey the message of being Antifragile and resisting the grasp of weakness and fragility. This is manifested in the jarring and stabbing synths, deep bass, and overall intensity of the track.

The vocals are attempting to explain the rise of a broken and lost soul who starts to regain power, tenacity and belief. The bottom is rising up and this person can’t be stopped. It’s a positive and empowering track if you listen to what the words are saying. A rebirth, a coming of age, a force of nature coming into being. A big FU to the doubters and naysayers, a self actualization and unveiling of something dormant, a powerful masculine energy about to let rip.

The music once again blends genres, incorporating industrial hip-hop, trip-hop, electronica, and jungle, creating a gritty and visceral sound clash. I enjoy mixing genres to break away from stereotypes and push boundaries as much as possible. I then add my vocals, aiming to create something distinct from what you typically hear.

Writing the lyrics is always the most time-consuming and sometimes challenging part; it can be a bit of a mental struggle. However, with a bit of pain and repetition often comes a result that I am satisfied with in the end. After all, isn’t a bit of suffering part of the artistic process?

This track is about how us humans make perpetual wars with ourselves. We tear ourselves down and treat our own minds as the enemy. I find it shocking and sad how f…..king cruel people can be to themselves, but yet be so good to others. With mental illness being a focus in society right now this track taps into that subject matter and delves into the human condition.

It is a exploration of the existential crisis that has hit many people in society. Why is this happening???? And what should we do to combat it ???? I have my own ideas and thoughts but lets leave that to another discussion. Personally I haven’t ever suffered from depression but that does not mean I am not aware of the darkness and treachery of the human psyche. I have just managed somehow someway navigate through the matrix and keep the demons at bay and my mind on track. Maybe I should write about my own personal techniques and habits for another post. I could do this but I don’t want to sound like some pretentious f…….king life coach lol.

This track and video was a welcome project after finishing the album Ghostrumentals. I felt like after working on instrumental music for a while I wanted to put pen to paper again and also do a video as well. This was the result. The track is about change, evolving and shedding the parts of yourself that do not serve you anymore.

It’s an optimistic song about using unrelenting grit, will and knowledge of self to move ahead in the world. If we are not changing we are not evolving. It’s also about being anti fragile and tapping into a raw masculine energy that can pull you out of weakness into a primal energy of power and action.
The track is taking influences from industrial music, Industrial hip hop, trip hop, breakbeat and electronica. Enjoy.

“ALLFLAWS ‘Apparitions’ – A Deep and Haunting Trip Hop Album with Industrial Hip Hop and Dark Electro Influences”

As the creator behind “Apparitions,” I find myself reflecting on the emotions and inspirations that led me to craft this album. Living alone at the time opened me up to deep introspection, shaping both the lyrics and sounds. Being cut off from people often serves as the catalyst for creativity and productivity.

I deliberately isolated myself to create a dedicated space for the album’s inception. It was akin to an inner-city dwelling, where I could hear the noise and hustle outside my window without becoming directly involved. I became the observer of the night, watching chaos unfold from my vantage point. However, I did venture out most Saturday nights for drinks, seeking human contact to maintain balance. Sometimes, getting lost in the revelry was essential to break the monotony and introduce much-needed contrast. Aside from those outings, I intentionally avoided seeing or speaking to anyone to avoid distractions. This routine persisted for over a year during the album’s production, serving as a focused and mood-enhancing backdrop to the project.

The essence of “Apparitions” lies in its fusion of diverse musical styles, including Trip Hop, Industrial Hip Hop, Dark Electro, Dub, and Breakbeats, to name a few. The album often explores dark, haunting, and eerie themes, but it also incorporates moments of light and hope to create a balanced experience.
